Camusian evenings. «Confronting indifference. For a journalism of ideas in the Mediterranean»
Cervantes Institutes of Casablanca, Rabat, Fez and Tangier

The writer Albert Camus considered journalism to be one of the most beautiful professions and assigned it great responsibility for collective evolution. For Camus, the “historians of everyday life” should develop a critical journalism focused on the miseries of the present.

In view of the dramatic situation that the world currently faces, it seems essential to restore Camus’ legacy and give voice to journalists and artists who use documentation in their attempt to confront general indifference and build, as Camus demanded, a journalism of ideas.

Hence, the Cervantes Institute, together with the team of the Trobades & Premis Mediterranis Albert Camus of Menorca will present several Camusian evenings, beginning at the Cervantes Institute in Casablanca and continuing at the Institutes of Rabat, Fez and Tangier.
