Carlota Vicens Pujol


Tenured Professor at the University of the Balearic Islands (Department of Spanish, Modern and Classic Philology, area of French), Carlota Vicens Pujol holds a Bachelor of Arts in Roman Philology (University of Barcelona) and in Modern Literature (Paul Valéry University in Montpellier). In 2000, she received her PhD in Roman Philology from the University of Barcelona. 

She has focused her research work and her publications on 19th and 20th century French literature, compared literature and travel narration. Around this topic, she has organized three International Colloquiums and, since 2004, she is the main investigator of the UIB Investigation Group “Travel Narration and the Insular Myth. Travel to the Balearic Islands”. 

She has published many articles in specialized reviews or collective volumes, being the scientific editor of: George Sand (1804-2004). L’île et la dame de Nohant (PPU, Barcelona, 2004) and De l’île réelle à l’île fantasmée. Voyages, littérature(s) et insularité (Nouveau Monde éditions, Paris, 2012).
