Oliver Laxe

The son of Spanish immigrants, Olivier Laxe was born in Paris in 1982 and studied Film at Pompeu Fabra University. Living for a time in Tangier, he created and developed “Dao Byed”, a cinematographic creation workshop, with kids. This workshop inspired his first feature film, Todos vós sodes capitáns, premiered at the Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes, where it won a prize. Mimosas has been selected and awarded at many international film festivals and has received the First Prize of the Semaine de la Critique of the Cannes Film Festival 2016. Laxe now lives between Morocco and Spain. He is one of the founders of the Galician company Zeitun Films.
