Victoria Camps (Barcelona, 1941) is a doctor of philosophy and professor emerita of moral and political philosophy at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She was elected independant senator for PSC-PSOE from 1993 to 1996 and a member of the Audiovisual Council of Catalonia between 2002 and 2008. She is currently chair of the Víctor Grifols i Lucas Foundation and member of the Catalonia Bioethics Committee. She has also chaired the Spanish Bioethics Committee. She has been a visiting professor at various European and American universities. She was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Huelva.
She has researched and written several books on ethics, politics, education, religion and the emancipation of women. .
She has been awarded the Premio Espasa de Ensayo for La imaginación ética (1983), the Premio Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (2008) and the Premio Nacional de Ensayo for El gobierno de las emociones (2011).
She coordinated the three-volume Historia de la ética. Her most recent books are Breve Historia de la Ética (2013), Elogio de la duda (2016) and La fragilidad de una ética liberal (2018).
