Samantha Novello


Samantha Novello (Florence, 1974). Lecturer in philosophy and history.

She received a doctorate in political and social sciences from the European University Institute in Florence (2005) and in political studies – history and theory from the University of Turin (2012). She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in political philosophy at the University of Verona.

She was a contributor to volumes I and III of the new Pléiade edition of Camus’s Œuvres complètes. She has authored a monograph entitled Albert Camus as Political Thinker (Palgrave Macmillan, 2010), as well as numerous articles in French, English and Italian on Camus’s ethical and political thought.

For her most recent work, due to be published by Gallimard in 2019, she edited the correspondence between the French writer and anti-fascist intellectual Nicola Chiaromonte.
